Integration in Teaching and Learning
Technology
integration is the use of technology resources like computers, mobile devices
like smartphones and tablets, digital cameras, social media platforms and
networks, software applications and the internet in daily classroom practices.
In
the session we learnt about different level of technology integration. Till date,
I didn’t know that there is different level of technology integration that we
can integrate in teaching and learning. So, after going through this lesson I found
this topic the most meaningful because being a future teacher it’s essential to
know different level of technology integration so as to make the lesson
interesting and fun.
In
the class, we discussed that the levels of integration of technologies can be
in three i.e.
1.
Basic
2.
Middle
3.
High.
In
the basic level, the new technological techniques do not involve a substantial
change in learning and teaching process. In the middle level, ICT
replaced the traditional teaching from teacher centered teaching to the learner
centered learning by providing practice questions through the projectors and
other mediums in the classroom. This becomes interactive as well as informative
as virtual interface comes into play. I think this process will provides enough
practice and exposure to the students to learn more.
Technology Integration
The
role of the teacher becomes more of a facilitator. The student initiates and
explores the information on the topic they have chosen. The teacher monitors
and clears the doubts when needed. The high level the technology is used by
students to help them through varieties of important learning processes. It
allows students to make links among member of content areas and uses various
learning tools and develops thinking and creativity skills.
When
technology integration is at its best, a child or a teacher doesn’t stop to
think that he or she is using a technology tool. Students are often more
actively engaged in projects when technology tools are a seamless part of the
learning process.
Before
we can discuss how to shift our pedagogy or the role of the teacher in a
classroom that is integrating technology, it is important to first define what
“technology integration” actually means. Seamless integration is when students
are not only using technology daily, but have access to a variety of tools that
match the task at hand and provide them the opportunity to build a deeper
understanding of content.
Thank you!
Hello
ReplyDeleteLike the way you have mentioned before discussing on how to shift our pedagogy or a role of a teacher in an integrated classroom, it is important to discuss what integrated classroom actually is. I see this point to be very important and you have exactly did it. Liked it
