ICT as Constructive Tools

This is the tools of ICT which focuses on the constructivist apporach of teaching and learning. Constructive tool is a tool that can be used to alter or gain information, construct their own knowledge or visualize understanding of the students. These tools can be widely used to interpret and use the information or the knowledge of the students and teachers for the effective teaching learning purposes.

Numerous construction tools are available in the modern computer world. The tools also evolve with new and improved versions. Basically, the ICT world is a very competitive world.  However, numerous organizations around the world uses Microsoft Word Processor  which comes in a package of word editor, powerpoint, excel worksheet and other relevant tools that are very useful in the manipulation of the information received. For example, powerpoint and microsoft word has a strong impact in the educational environment and is widely used in most organizations in the form of memos, reports, letters, presentations, record routine information, giving businesses the most.

Life has been much easier for the learner, writers, teachers and basically all walks of life due to these tools. In learning a second language, microsoft word manage to help students to make correct sentences and texts. The recent updates of softwares of word processors include spell checking and dictionaries and grammar checkers. This has enabled a very easy and efficient writing. Therefore, teachers can use the software to promote writing in the curriculum. Many plugins can also be installed in the word for advanced grammar, syntax and dictionary checks. One such plugins is Grammarly. Even the internet can be used to rephrase the paragraphs for easy writing and manipulation.

Other options for a constructive tools include powerpoint presentation. PowerPoint is a presentation graphics program packaged as part of Microsoft Office for Windows or Macintosh. It is widely used by almost all the stakeholders around the world for idea and report interpretations. It is also generally used for developing business presentations , it is also very advantageous in the context of increase creativity among students. While word processing program is the most common computer applications used, as a spreadsheet like excel is just as important in teaching and learning of English. Students will be exposed to learning design and statistical data using the Excel program that can be automated through the formula.

As mentioned before, internet is also one of the main construction tools that can be used for the interactive data manipulation and retrieves. The sites such as https://www.polleverywhere.com/ and https://www.mentimeter.com/ among many others also offers interactive content sharing with a live audience. Such features promotes ICT as a package of constructive teaching and learning.
